The Corinthia Hotel Khartoum is a five-star luxury hotel located on Nile Road in central Khartoum, Sudan, situated at the confluence of the Blue Nile and White Nile. Opened on August 17, 2008, the property features 230 rooms and suites, including a Presidential Suite, offering views of the city and the rivers.
The hotel was built and financed by the Libyan government under Muammar Gaddafi at a cost of approximately 80 million euros and is operated by Corinthia Hotels. Its distinctive oval-curved façade, designed to resemble a ship's sail, has earned it the local nickname "Gaddafi's Egg." It remains the only five-star luxury hotel in Sudan, providing amenities such as six restaurants, a spa with an indoor pool, tennis courts, and a convention center.
